Fall Back
Posted: August 27, 2009 Filed under: oat bran, oats, Top Chef | Tags: almond butter, apple butter, Uncle Sam 1 Comment »Top Chef is such a good show! I was ready to sleep at 9pm, but knew I wouldn’t want to wait to find out what happened on last night in Las Vegas. The extra hour actually gave Nick and I some more time to hangout and we watch Bear bite a frogs head off (Man vs. Wild) on Discovery.
After getting myself out of bed with one less hour of sleep, I need oatmeal like whoa!
In the bowl: 1/2 cup oat bran, 1/2 cup oats, 1 really really ripe naner, handful of Uncle Sam, 1 tbs apple butter, 1 tbs almond butter.
Fall in a bowl! Just missing some real maple syrup.
Running a little late due to a special breakfast request from Nick! Of course I made his an egg muffin! It beats the plain bagel and cream cheese he would have gotten!
Have a great day everyone!
Those who watched Top Chef, do you agree with sending Eve home?
Four Corners

One exciting thing is we are one week closer to moving into the new apartment and getting a kitty! OK so the kitty is about 2 months off, but at least I can see it in my future.
I went with oats and oat bran mix for breakfast. I had a really hard time picking something to eat for breakfast and what to pack for lunch.
Four corners banana oats/oatbran. 1/4 oats, 1/4 cup oat bran, 1 cup h20, 1/2 naner mashed a mixed, 1/2 white peach, 1 tbs flax, 1 spoon almond butter, sprinkle of granola.
It is hurricane season and I hope all in Florida are doing OK today after Claudette hit last night. Doesn’t seem to be too bad of a hit.
OK everyone, bring on the week!
Making Your Own Sunshine
Posted: August 6, 2009 Filed under: oat bran | Tags: flax, Naturally Nutty, Nature's Path granola, peach Leave a comment »I woke up this morning to grey sky and rain. We really need it around here so it wasn’t that big of a blow, but it always seems that much harder to get out of bed when it is raining. At least it made the breakfast choice easy! Warm and oatty!
I decided to make my own sunshine this morning in my oat bran.
Can you tell what it was? My peach sat atop 1/2 cup oat bran with 1/2 naner mashed in 2 tbs Nature’s Path pumpkin granola, 1 tbs flax and a tbs of Naturally Nutty vanilla almond butter mountain (for the sun to rise over!). The peach was amazing burst in your mouth goodness, kind of like when the sun rays touch your sun-blocked skin
and you start to absorb the warmth.
How do you make sun on rainy days?
I finally get to see Nick tonight! Everything is coming together for our apt!!! And we are going on vacation and moving my office, yikes! The next month could be really crazy, but fun. And what is life without fun?
Ok off to finish my oat bran and watch Access Hollywood uh I mean the News.
Last push to the weekend!
Triple Oats
Posted: July 15, 2009 Filed under: oat bran, oats, The Future of Food, trader joes Leave a comment »In an effort to conserve the fresh fruit for lunches I opted for frozen fruit in my breakfast. I found that these actually mix really well into oats due to their high water content. I went with TJs triple mango, blueberry and raspberry mix.

- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 1 tbs flax
- 1/2 cup – mango, blueberry and raspberry mix
- drop almond extract
- sprinkle almond slivers
- spoon almond butter

This was delicious and will be a go to in the winter when fresh fruit is out of season. I loved how my oats turned pink!
Nick and I only got through about 30min of The Future of Food before we passed out. From what we saw it scares me even more then Food Inc did. It goes it to much greater detail about Monsanto and their chemical dominance.
On a lighter note…David Beckham is going to be on the Today show! Yum! I hope I am still around to see him!
Happy Wednesday everyone!
Breakfast with Harrod

I had a breakfast guest this morning! Harrod is my cow from England. Momma beans brought him back from her trip there about 4 years ago and I have slept with him ever since. Nick is very jealous of him because I call him my true boy friend.

He joined me for some appley blueberry oats! I told him he can only eat grasses because a grass fed cow is a happy cow!
In MY bowl there was: 1/3 cup oat bran, 1/4 cup almond milk, splash h20, spoonful of unsweetened apple sauce, 1/3 chopped apple, few blueberries, sprinkle Back to Nature apple and blueberry granola and a tsp almond butter.

Going to look at another apt. today, if I hear back with the address

Today I will finally find out exactly what I will be doing in finance…it has truly been up in the air thanks in part to the EPA not giving us any final guidelines..grrr.
So I wanted some comfort food for breakfast this AM. Oat were an obvious choice. But I made them even more comforting with PB, jelly and banana!
Peanut Butter & Jelly with Banana Oats!
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 1/4 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 unsweetened almond breeze
- 1/2 cup h20
- 1/2 naner
- strawberry jam
- 3 teaspoons natural PB
- 1 tbs flax
- small sprinkle of granola for crunch

Sorry my bowl is a little messy there was an explosion on the micro this AM. I guess that is what I get for using it instead of stove top!

Totally comforting! I couldn’t really taste they jelly but the PB and naner were there so I was OK with that! I have to finish packing and get ready for work! Yes OBAMA and the G8 is finally the first headline on the news! Should be a good day! HAPPY FRIDAY!

It seems that much harder to get out of bed when it is raining outside. I love falling asleep to a light rain, but hate waking up to it. Warm and cozy foods are going to be hanging around today.
Starting with a nice warm breakfast:
- 1/4 cup oat bran
- 1/4 cup Me&Goji – Heather’s Heaven
- 1/2 cup h20
- 1/2 mashed naner
- handful blueberries
- 3/4 tbs lemon curd
- 1 tbs flax

All heated up and ready to sit warm in my belly!
Look at the gooey lemon curd! It was just the right about to get a hint of lemon in every bite
I am going to have to start taking a boat across the harbor pretty soon if this rain doesn’t stop!
I hope your Thursday is more bright!

Posted: June 12, 2009 Filed under: oat bran, trader joes Leave a comment »I am so sick of hearing about “the switch”! It was supposed to happen in Feb? and not enough people were ready so they pushed it til June. Finally they will be done talking about converter boxes, will I still get service?, scan what? Get the bunny ears off your house!
Bring on Digital TV! I am pretty sure Nick (he works at at TV station) will be having an interesting day!
When I woke up I had no idea what to eat. Then I got a craving for tjs fiber and fruit medley.

Simple and feels good in my belly!

Monday…insert sigh…
Posted: June 8, 2009 Filed under: granola, oat bran, strawberries, trader joes Leave a comment »Welcome to another week! Time will always march on, and on to breakfast!
I wanted to use some of all of the cereals in the house and I just left out one blueberry apple granola because it was unopened. I had a sort of cereal medley founded on oat bran and Me and Gogi.

From front to back:
- 1 tbs rainforest granola, small handful of TJs fruit and fiber medley and 1 tbs Uncle Sam. Everyone also got in on the MD strawberry fest! The bottom was 1/4cup oat bran and 1/4 cup me and gogi cooked with 1/4 cup almond milk and 1/4+ h20.
I am glad I got to enjoy most of my cereals this morning I had missed my Tjs fruit and nutter!
Have a super Monday All!
