Happy First Day of December!  Count down to Christmas is T-24 day!  It is only 31 degrees out so it is fitting that it is December.  Another count down?  20 days until the days start getting longer and we have more sunlight!

For the cold weather I really thought I would be making oats, but I really was not in the mood and I didn’t really have the time. :(

Yogurt mess it was!

001 All pretty before being mixed up…1 naner, almond butter, Okios, Uncle Sam, TJs Fruit and Fiber Medley, Kashi H2H, Bear Naked nola.

002 003 There is the yogurt!

I leave you with the view for my morning.  Sun rising, Christmas lights on the rail, and the glow of the news reflecting in the window.

004

Have a happy first day of December all!

Count down to New Years T-30 day!  What are your plans?????

Good Morning Monday! RAVENS WIN!!!!!! In overtime, and I feel asleep :( .  They should have won in regulation!  It was the third string QB, come on boys!  Big Ben will be back next time and we need to step it up!

5:30 was a bit of a shock to the system this morning.  At least it is only a 4 day work week for me!  Going to the Big Bean for Katherine’s birthday!!!!!

Until then I enjoyed a lovely bowl of oat bran!

001 1/3 cup oat bran, 1/3 cup h20, 1/2 cup skim, naner split into cooking and on top, Uncle Sam, pumpkin granola, spoon of crunchy almond butter.

Oh I have missed my almond butter!

002 003

I also had gingerbread coffee that I picked up at TJs yesterday.  Very nice with a hint of ginger, molasses and other holiday spices!

Time to get a move on little doggie!  This week is going to be reallllly busy until I reach Friday!

Thank you blog world for reminding me about Pandora radio!  I have been listening for the past few hours while I have been cleaning the apartment and resisting the temptation to put on the Christmas stations.

Today has been a day of breakfasts so far.

First breakfast was…

001 Pomegranate pancakes!  Along side some banana and PB.

I mixed some arils into the batter along with my mix, honey, apple sauce and milk.

002 Topped with more arils and dipped in syrup!

003 Best combo in life.  Banana and peanut butter.  Magic.

After breakfast I dashed off for the 3 hour ordeal of getting my hair did.

I seriously need some length taken off and my color fixed.

Before…

010 After…

007 Me likes!  Much better!  I have a cleaning glow to my face here, ha!  Like the world map?  Great way to cover a wall and educational.  We always study up before going to trivia.

When I got home from my 1/2 day in a chair that really hurt my bum I could not figure out what to make for lunch.  I am trying to use up the things I have in my fridge before I leave for Thanksgiving on Wednesday, but I really wanted eggs in a basket.  So that is exactly what I had.  I really should have had some veggies in this, but that is what dinner is for!

004 2x toast, 2x egg, cheese, extra bread circles with smart balance, apple with cinnamon raisin crack.

005 006

Perfect combo!  It was also really nice having natural light for my photos.  Ugh the gripe of winter.  It’s coming so soon, only a month and 4 days until Christmas!!!!

Are you planning on shopping on black Friday?  My mom and I are going to hit the outlets in Freeport, ME.  Probably the least crowed outlets you will ever find on black Friday.  J.Crew is ours and I can’t wait for our peppermint mocha treats from Starbuck!  It’s tradition!!!!  Can you tell I am excited?

OK time to figure out the dinner plan…we were supposed to hiking this afternoon, but football “ran late” so maybe tomorrow :(

Foooooggggg-Hooooorrrrrnnnnnn

I have no idea how to type out the noise of a fog horn so that was my attempt :)

It is like pea soup outside my window this morning.  We don’t live year water or in a valley so it must be very humid outside!

Fog Horns remind me of summer in Maine!  Oh Maine I will see you in 6 days for Turkey Day!

For breakfast I wanted something simple and classic – Whipped Banana Oats

001 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 h20, 1/3 cup milk, 1 banana, 1 tbs flax, lots of cinnamon, Kashi Go Lean Crunch, almond butter spoon.

002 Mmmm marshmallow bananas!

Side note: The color girl on the news is in a turkey coop this morning with a ton of turkeys getting ready for slaughter.  Kind of morbid, don’t you think?

Time to jet!

Happy Almost Friday!

Good Morning!  I can’t believe it is Monday morning again.  I also can’t believe how awful I slept last night.  Actually it wasn’t me, it was Nick.  He was tossing and turning the whole night which kept me awake.  I told him this morning that if this happens again to please go sleep in the other room or on the couch.  Needless to say I was not a happy camper this morning and will not be able to stay awake for the Raven’s game tonight :(

At least I had prepared my breakfast last night!

Overnight AB&J with banana oats!

001 Last night I mixed the remains of my plain yogurt with 1/3 cup of oats, berry jam and a little almond milk.

This morning I added banana, flax, almond butter and Bear Naked granola.

002 I love this combo!  Off to fill up my coffee cup.  This is going to be a looooong Monday.  I hope your day is going smoother than mine!

We are having some crazy weather around here due to Ida.  The beaches are flooding and I hear it is going to rain for days.  Cold + Wet = Me just wanting to curl up in bed and watch a movie.  Unfortunately, life does not work that way.

Breakfast was a great repeat, but it had to be eaten swiftly.  I had to get mom to the train station and we had to leave 30min earlier that I usually leave.  This also left me with posting when I  got into work early.

11.12.09

In the bowl we have 1/2 cup plain Horizon yogurt, 1/2 cup Kashi H2H, 1/4 cup Uncle Sam, 1 sliced naner, almond butter, jelly.

11.12.09_2

I mix this all up when I am done taking pictures.  Maybe one day I will get a pic.

OK time to switch to work mode!  I hope all on the east coast are staying dry today!

Have a good one!

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood!  Too bad I will be in a cube all day.

I know I had mentioned peppermint patty oats, but I changed my mind when I looked into the fridge this morning.

I can’t remember the last time I had a yogurt mess and an almost empty Chobani container was calling my name!  Sicily was excited for it too.

001

Don’t worry, she didn’t eat any, just making sure it was safe for me to eat.  She does not eat people food and I plan to keep it that way.

002 Almond butter, banana and jelly yogurt mess.

003 Along with the ab, jelly, yogurt and banana there was 1/2 a cup of Uncle Sam and 1/2 cup of Kashi H2H with a side of Sissy snifs.   I think she was after the yogurt, but again she did not eat any of my breakfast.

OK time to head out the door!

Happy Monday!

If you were thinking about buying a house and getting the $8k rebate, but didn’t get your act together on time, good news!  They have extended the buying time until April!  Nick was thinking about buying a house earlier this year so I wonder if this is going to change his mind?  At any rate it should be interesting to see how this will effect the housing market if at all.

Back to breakie…

I have had mini WW bagels in my fridge, well for a long time.  I needed to use at least one today, but a mini bagel is not enough for my breakfast!  I have seen a bunch of eggs in a hole in blogland, so I thought I would take that and roll with it.  I made my egg scrambled with dill, S&P and poured it into the wholes on the bagel.

002 A lot of egg got out the bottom, but I piled it back in.  I liked how the bottom got crispy, while the bagel stayed chewy!  Again one egg and one mini bagel is not enough (~160kcal) so I opted to use the other 1/2 of my leftover waffle.  I split a tbs of Cinnamon Raisin Swirl and banana on both quarters.

003 All together it was a sweet and savory breakfast and I really liked the egg in a mini bagel!

001

I think a large fruit salad with yogurt might be its best partner?  I do have one bagel left, but I need more fruit to make an actual salad.  He can chill in the fridge a little while long ;)

Have you seen all the snow in Denver?!?!?  I really hope this rain they are calling for on Halloween stays away!

Have a great Thursday everyone!!!!

Can someone build me a boat so I can paddle to work?  It is once again raining.  It has not stopped since yesterday early morning.  Oh and the flooding!

At least I got my waffle!

001 Onw WAFFLE according to the package plus flax, minus oil.  Toppings included a heated mix of pumpkin butter and almond butter, a dollop of Greek yogurt and some granola.  With a banana on the side that seriously needed to be eaten.

002 I was glad to find out that Chobani does not use artificial growth hormone cows milk for their yogurt.  I have been reading the book that goes along with Food Inc. and it is seriously shocking.  It it takes me awhile to digest chapters and I have ended up having to go back and re-read.  Speaking of Food Inc., it comes out on DVD on November 13th!  Guess what I will be doing that day?

Time to get on the road, this rain is causing havoc!

See you all later!

How many times can you hit the snooze button?  Well with a rainy morning it was about 5!  With that in mind I will have to rush through my new breakfast and this post :(

This was my first experience with Amazing Grass.  I am starting to feel a little under the weather…thanks to all those people coughing up a lung in the office and on the trains.  I thought a boost of Amazing Grass was what I needed!  I wanted to make it into waffles (I know amazing right!) but I only had time for oatmeal.

001 002 003

I mixed the packet with 1/4 cup oat bran and 1/2 naner.  The on top we have Kashi H2H other half of the naner and almond butter.  I was going for chocolate, almond butter and banana.  It was good, but def healthy chocolate :)   Good rick flavor without the sugar.

I also had a new coffee that mom got me, which is delicious!  Perfect alternative to creamer, which I had to stop using because it made me feel sick.

004 To to gobble down the rest of my oats and head out the door!  Rain = accidents and dumb drivers.

Check y’all later!
