Good morning!  Welcome to trivia Tuesday!  Well it is going to become that.  I haven’t really fallen in love with anyone on Biggest Loser like Tara last year so tonight Nick, his dad and I are heading to a local watering hole to check out their trivia night!  I am excited.  Nick’s dad is crazy good with trivia.  I also think Biggest Loser is On Demand.  Speaking of, what is up with Abbey going on the publicity circuit??? She is going to be on Leno? and is on the cover of people?  She is the first one I have seen this season.

After seeing Kath’s oatmeal pancake yesterday I knew I need to make one myself this morning!

I followed her general recipe but added a scoop of Amazing Grass Amazing Meal.  I topped it with almond butter and pumpkin butter and a side of a small Gala apple.

The greens were well masked by the naner, but I actually like the way the powder smells…I am weird like that.

Time to wrap this up and head out the door.  I keep thinking I am late because I can see the sun before I get to work.  I wish I could run in the AM, but 4:30 runs do not sound like fun to me!

Have a great day!

Wow I am pooped!  Today wasn’t even that crazy.  I think it may have to do with my allergies and how stuffed I feel after dinner!  I would climb into bed right now, but Biggest Loser is on and Nick is watching The Wire on the bedroom TV.

So because of my poopy state I am going to make this sort of a quick one.

003 004

Morning Snacks.  1/4 giant honeycrisp apple and almonds.

005 Lunch was a huge delicious salad and pita with hummus for dipping.

006 In the salad:  mixed lettuce, spinach, carrots, cucs, celery, leftover greens and tomatoes, snap peas and balsamic with mustard dressing.

007 Sweet end!  So glad to have these back in my life!

******Phone, type, phone type******

008 I bet you can’t guess what that is?  Clif Mojo  PB pretzel maybe???? Oh yeah!

009 The worst part of snack time…the last bite :(

**************************

I had planned on doing another 8 mile run on sidewalks only.  Around mile 3 my quad told me otherwise.  It wasn’t hurting, but not feel the best.  I decided to listen to my body and cut down my run to 6.5.  It was not the best run even, but my last 1.5 miles felt really good.  I tried to push myself a little extra while I was feeling good.  With my extra time I did some core work and pushup before throwing dinner in the oven and hitting the showers.

*************************

Good old loin de pork was on the menu.  Marinated in red wine and grill Mrs. Dash grill seasonings.  I like using Mrs. Dash because A) it is one of my only memories of my grandfather and b) there is no salt added.

010 I wasn’t feeling a ton of meat tonight so I made up some tofu he same way as the pork and had one small piece of meat with 3 pieces of tofu.  I also had 1/2 of a sweet potato (yes that is 1/2!!!!) and onions, mushrooms and spinach sautéed in veggie broth and herbs.  I think my sleepiness is due to my potato…

011 No need for dessert tonight!  Sicily is already dipping out.

012 I am going to try and get Nick to turn off The Wire and let me watch Biggest Loser in bed…where is Dina’s family???  She has 2 people greet her???  And Shay only has her husband and 2 step sons????  Very odd to me.

Have a great night!!!!!

So it is official Tracey is crazy!

I know last night’s Biggest Loser seemed really emotional with the two teams up for elimination, but for some reason I wasn’t feeling it.  I was more upset that a 447lbs person could only loose 6 lbs in a week when small contestants could loose double digits.  It is great that Shay did loose that much, don’t get me wrong, I just thought it could be a lot more.  I still do love Daniel.  He is so positive and really should be the new spokes person for the Biggest Loser.  Last but not least props to the Red team for both loosing over 100lbs each at home during the update!

Onto the food!

Returned to the oat bran this AM.

But fist I need to make a comment about my pumpkin pie coffee brought to you by…

001 I know, I know, I know…this is not the most natural thing ever, but it is cheaper than those pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks!  Sprinkle with Cinnamon, yum!

002 OK I feel better after that confession…back to the oat bran.004

  • 1/3 cup oat bran
  • 1/3 cup h20
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 1/4 cup plain Stoneyfield
  • 1/4 Country Pumpkin granola
  • spoon of almond butter
  • drizzle honey

003 I might have to make yogurt on hot oats a regular event.  So tangy!

Chilly willy outside!  Don’t forget your jackets this morning!

Half way there!

See you tonight!

Oh it is a good morning!  I just saw and add for the new Biggest Loser coming in Sept!  I seriously got goose bumps.  Daniel from last year’s orange team is back and looking better than ever!  I missed part of the ad but I think it might be old contestants that still have to loose weight and new partners? Does anyone know??? So excited for this season to start. “What have you done today to make you feel proud?”

Wow lots of excitement to get the day started.  I also got to have a “bottom of the Fage” for breakfast.  This is the 35.3oz.

001In the bottom:  maybe about 1/2 cup Fage, 1/2 cup Me&Goji, flax, banana, almond butter, 1/2 cup Kashi Heart to Heart, 1/2 naner.

002A little far down there, but I got it all out! ;)

Nothing unusual going on today…hopefully will run through smoothly.

Who else is excited about Biggest Loser????

Attention, ATTENTION!  The following shows will be starting up soon!

  • Top Chef, August 19th, BRAVO - The Real one! no masters here, but Padma will be!
  • Project Runway, August 20th, Lifetime – same people, new place
  • Biggest Loser!!!!!!! Sept 15th, NBC – I cannot wait for new losers and Jillian!

I am so super excited!  They are all written and highlighted on my desktop calender.  My calender is seriously what makes me happy during the day.  I write down every fun event I have planned to get me through the not so fun ones that must be done.

006

Shredding is going to have to wait until another day…things come up…but I am seriously looking forward to it (if you couldn’t already tell ;) )

Lunch was the last bit of enjoyable tabbouleh salad in a flat out wrap with Sabra hummus and avocado.  I also had a white nectarine and a few strawberries.

003005

I switched out my yogurt with something new, but really something old, today.  Cottage cheese!  And what is that on it?? Balsamic vinegar. Wait! Don’t knock it til you try it.  If you are both a cottage cheese and balsamic fan, you have to give it a shot!  You will not be disappointed!

004This afternoon I got ANOTHER assignment with stimulus aka Big Brother’s money house.  I am not all that thrilled about it, but I was glad to do 60min of yoga for my off day from training today!

________________________________________________________

SO my dilemma this evening was…I have a bunch of tomatillos but I don’t want to make salsa verde from them.  What else is there to make????  The only thing I could find was a chicken soup.

007

Well what a cowinkie-dink I was grilling chicken for dinner!  I started by roasting the tomatillos, onion, galric and jalapeno in toaster oven for 45min.

008While these cooked away I grilled up my chicken with some EVOO, S&P and cumin and made a green salsa (yes I already had some) avocado cumin topper for it.  I also threw on some Brussels sprouts, because they are amazing grilled!  I never liked them before because they were always boiled, but now I love them!

As I waited for my lovely meal to come together I sampled this cheese from TJs.  It was amazing!!!!!  Nothing light about it, so much flavor!

009About 20min later…ta da!

010I spread the extra guac mix onto another piece of my honey oat bread.

011Gorgie organic chicken strips.

012Grilled sprout.  So crispy and delicious!

Ding!  My tomatillos were done roasting and ready for soup insertion.  In the pot went…(no real measurements were taken)

  • 8 ct tomatillos
  • 1 small white onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 jalapeno – from my garden (these guys are growing like crazy!)
  • 1 can no salt added deiced tomatoes
  • ~1/4 bag frozen white corn
  • S&P
  • 1/2 box chicken stock
  • 1 all natural chicken stock starter
  • cumin
  • oregano
  • 3 grilled chicken tenders

013I’ll let you know how it is tomorrow!  It is currently reducing and I have a special treat from my Boston 1/2ers in the oven!

I am currently enjoying a cup of sleepy time tea and some PB&Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl on 1/2 a Sami thin – I had a super huge craving that is now satisfied.

My yoga teacher said something tonight at the start of class…”we all work in circles and when an object falls out of the circle we seem to fall apart.  Let your mind and body accept and change and reinvent the shape.”  I don’t know I thought it was pretty cool!

What is a food that you have had issues finding a use for other then its designated place in life?

Good Night All!!!
