I saw a cat getting walked this morning on my run…

Before my run I had a piece of Struan bread with the last of the pumpkin butter and milk.

001I ran about 5 miles and I am glad that tomorrow is a day off.  My legs were seriously tight and sore, but I wanted to get a last run along the water in before the move.  We i returned I heated up another oats in the bottom of an almond butter jar that I had created last night.  My oats are packed!

003The coffee pot was also packed so I opted for quad berry tea.

002OK so blueberries are great, but warm blueberries are 10x better.  I really need to remember this!  The blueberries in my oats tasted like TJs blueberry spread, sooo delicious!

Off to pack up the car with the first load, shower and head up to the county.  Not sure when I will be reporting back in, but have a great weekend!!!!

I am not ready for it to be fall yet!  I still haven’t gone on vacation!  Don’t get me wrong, I love the no humidity in the air, but I am not ready for my bathrobe in the morning yet!

At least this weekend looks like it is going to be gorgeous for moving and hopefully a little relaxing.

For breakfast I went a little out of the box.

0012 slices of Struan bread from the FM with PB&Co Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.  And a yogurt parfait.

002Chobani plain, banana, Greek, blueberries and flax, Greek, rest of naner and granola.

This was a nice change to have a texture party mix in my mouth.

Time to get a move on!

Already September…where did summer go?  I miss the summer days as a children when summer felt like it would never end. Sigh.

When the alarm went off and I rolled over to look at the alarm clock it was already 7AM!  I had forgotten to re-set it from “Nick time” yesterday.  Now that I was running 45min behind I hurried to get dressed brew a pot of coffee, come up with something for lunch and mix up some breakfast.

Thankfully I had the bottom of the Chobani 16oz tub to use as a breakfast base.

I had 1/4 cup of everything…Greek yogurt, milk, kashi heart to heart, Uncle Sam, Nature’s Path flax flakes and Natures Path Cinnamon Blueberry.  I also had 3/4 banana, 1 CT white nectarine and some blueberries.

8.28.09_2

All mixed up and ready to be shoved in my mouth as I sent this pictures to myself in order to get this b-fast post up as soon as I got to the office.  Now I had to get off this thing and get started on work.  Talk about blog dedication!

Happy Friday Everyone! :)

Busy day up in Baltimore town.  Lots of stimulus work with three more pushed into action!  Get those jobs creatin!  There is actually lots going on with the state with furloughs and cut backs.  We are moving and people are losing their jobs…crazy times!

At least all of this hub-bub made the day go by quickly.  I got a brief break for lunch and some blog reading.

003Roll-Up wrap (I am starting to like like these better than flat out wraps, less rubbery texture) with hard boiled egg, red pepper hummus and spinach.  One very large carrot, mango, blueberries and dark Adora disk.

004005Afternoon snacks included a baby CT plum, blueberry oat round, and black bean brownie…all not pictured.

Today was speed work and I really wasn’t feeling outdoor running…it was humid and I was feeling like my legs needs a little less stressful surface.

I did 4 miles of speed work: 5min warm-up at 6mph then alternated 1min sprints at 9mph, 2min at 6mph.  36min total.

Then I did leg strength, arms and core.

Sooo what was I craving?  Turkey dogs and pickles…yeah I don’t know.  I am blaming it on cleaning out the fridge.

So here is what came of the two.

006Bed of spinach with 2 slices turkey dogs, slices pickle, mustard relish, and mixed peppers.  I also had a piece of WW toast with some more amazing light Gouda TJs cheese!

007See there were peppers!

Now I am currently watching last weeks Project Runway and getting into bed.  It will be interesting to see how Lifetime takes the show.  Man Heidi is gorgie!!! And I love her family.

DOES ANYONE WATCH PROJECT RUNWAY?? I feel like I have been watching a lot of TV but it is really only 3 shows…they are my favorites though!

Senator Kennedy has passed.  I knew he was sick, but I thought he was doing better?  I wonder how this will effect the health care debate.  I know he was a huge pusher for Obama’s plan. And who will take over the Senate seat in Mass.?  He was speaking with others politically involved in Massachusetts, but I do not know enough about politics to know what happens in the case of a death during term.

Before I heard the new of the death of an icon I created a new breakfast!

I had bought some WW english muffins yesterday and wanted to test them out.  I however regret that I did not eat them in traditional fashion with jam…I wanted the nostalgia.

001I’m not saying these weren’t good though!  Toasted with almond butter and Nature’s Path pumpkin flax granola.

003I also had a dollop of plain Greek with blueberries and flax.

002Aw poor little wrinkly blueberry :(  he still tasted good when I gobbled him up!

A few bright ideas to green your home from Real Simple to round out the day:

  • Seal electrical outlets in the exterior walls of your house
  • Install a high performance showerhead
  • Replace incandescent bulbs with CFLs (I have an issue on this due to the mercury content)
  • Wash clothes on cold water
  • Keep your blinds closed in the summer and open in the winter
  • Install a programmable thermostat

What do you do you improve your GREEN?

I tell ya, when I put my Ngata jersey on and he delivers.  My man scored a TD off an interception pass on the Jets first play of the game!

Before I could get to the game I had to get through work…work with me people, come on!  That is all I am going to say about that…

I had a hard time coming up with lunch due to lack of grocery shopping this weekend, but I am coming up with things.

Here is what was on the table this Monday.

003Salad with tomatoes, carrot, hard boiled egg.  Greek yogi with peach and flax.  Some almonds and an Adora disk.  I had to snag the almonds from my desk…I really felt like my lunch was missing something without them.  I cannot get over how good these Adora disks are!

I spent the afternoon speaking was some friendly, but confused local officials.

Around 4:00 it was special snack time…and by this I mean I had no homemade oat bars so I had to make up some emergency desk popcorn.

004Natural pop with 1/2 salt.  I had about 3/4 of the bag with a can of um yeah seltzer.

Today was supposed to be super spin day, but it ended up not being as good as it usually is.  I really don’t know why, but the class just didn’t seem to push me like it usually does.  I also did 15min arms and 15min core work.  My back is still sore from yoga yesterday!  I think it is amazing that hold poses really DOES use your muscles in a whole different way then weights do.

_____________________________________________

After a disappointing gym session I wanted something simple and easy for dinner.  My dinner took exactly 10min to make.  I had taken some sweet italian sausage from the freezer this AM and was lazy and grilled them up on the George.  While these were cooking I popped 2 sweet potatoes into the mirco for 4min.  Grilling and micro time left me with just enough tics to put together two salads of FM lettuce, carrot, flat beans and balsamic.

006I added some garlic salt and pepper to my potato post pic.

007008I also had a glass of my favorite Spanish red just cause I felt like I needed a glass tonight.

005After dinner I made up a new version of oat bars.  Oat rounds, I guess you would call them?

009

  • 1/2 cup Me&Goji Mix
  • 1 cup oat bran
  • 1/2 cup skim
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1/2 cup frozen Maine blueberries
  • 3 TBS egg whites (1 egg)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp almond extract
  • 1 tsp Kashi Go Lean vanilla protein powder – why not, right?
  • 1 tbs flax
  • cinnamon
  • nutmeg

010Grr blur.  I set the timer for 20min, but some how missed it so I think they were in there for anywhere between 20-30min.  Makes 12.  These were perfectly nutty.  No sugar except in the powder.  I actually enjoy something like a granola bar that is a little less sweet.  I think with a sweeter fruit than wild Maine blueberries they would be perfect.  I had one of these with some sweet dreams tea to end the night.

Off to finish the Raven’s first half and then head up to bed for the second…well maybe I will make it that far.

011

Made it through another Monday!

Do you like your granola/snack bars sweet or wholesome?  I like mine to feel healthy and not have 27g of sugar like those Amazing Meal bars I had this weekend.  Sorry I am not jumping on that train :(

It’s Finally Friday!!! Too bad it is raining… No plans for outdoor activity tonight so I am cool with it, and Maryland needs the rain.  Plus I don’t have to water my plants!

One would think a bowl of oats would be on the menu for a grey day but I actually wanted french toast…on second thought I remembered that it was going to take too much effort and I should wait til tomorrow morning when I have more time to enjoy it.

From french toast to a bowl of mixins.

  • 1/4 cup plain Horizon yogurt
  • 2 tbs Nature’s Path pumpkin flax granola
  • handful TJ’s fruit and fiber medley
  • 3 tbs Uncle Sam
  • handful PB puffins
  • 1/2 naner
  • blueberries
  • 1 tbs flax

IMG_4222Where’s the cereal?

IMG_4223There we go!  It was a party in my mouth.

8 hours of work until the weekend! FINALLY! Happy Friday All!

p.s. my arms are so sore from body pump!

Yay Friday!  The fact that I can smell the weekend was basically the only motivation I had to get out of bed this morning, and that it is dress down Friday so I don’t have to think about getting dressed this AM.  Wow I am off to a lazy start!

I had planned to visit an old friend for breakfast, Kath’s oatmeal pancake!  This was defiantly a pick me up to my morning.  I made the stanadard size with 1/3 cup of oats vs. 1/3 cup of egg whites.  To top it I mashed up 1/2 a very ripe banana a handful of frozen raspberries and a tbs of almond butter.  This was a great topper!  Next time I am thinking of throwing the raspberries into the batter.  I used to love buckwheat pancakes with raspberries baked in, and this sort of reminded me of them.

IMG_4157I sprinkled the last of my CT blueberries on top for a change in texture.  This topper go supper fluffy with the whipping action. Sooooo Gooood!

IMG_4158I hope everyone enjoys there Friday and wooohooo for the weekend!
