Gah it is cold out!  In the 20s this morning!!!  Very cold temps + Monday does not equal a happy Heather.  I just want to stay snuggled in my bed with Sissy, but we’ve got to work!

It is also purple Monday.  The Raven’s play the Packers tonight and it should be even colder in Green Bay.

We may have to turn on the heat this evening for the first time this season.

I obviously needed warm gingerbread coffee and something warm for breakfast.

001 I heated up a 1/4 cup Kashi 7 Grain Nuggets and a big handful of Shredded Wheat with milk in the micro and then topped it with Kashi Go Lean Crunch, TJs Fruit and Fiber Medley, banana, Oikos and flax.

002 I love these cereals warmed up with milk.  Delicious!

Take some time today to remember the attacks on Pearl Harbor.  I think it is odd that Goggle does not have a theme in honor today.

Happy First Day of December!  Count down to Christmas is T-24 day!  It is only 31 degrees out so it is fitting that it is December.  Another count down?  20 days until the days start getting longer and we have more sunlight!

For the cold weather I really thought I would be making oats, but I really was not in the mood and I didn’t really have the time. :(

Yogurt mess it was!

001 All pretty before being mixed up…1 naner, almond butter, Okios, Uncle Sam, TJs Fruit and Fiber Medley, Kashi H2H, Bear Naked nola.

Foooooggggg-Hooooorrrrrnnnnnn

I have no idea how to type out the noise of a fog horn so that was my attempt :)

It is like pea soup outside my window this morning.  We don’t live year water or in a valley so it must be very humid outside!

Fog Horns remind me of summer in Maine!  Oh Maine I will see you in 6 days for Turkey Day!

For breakfast I wanted something simple and classic – Whipped Banana Oats

001 1/3 cup oats, 1/3 h20, 1/3 cup milk, 1 banana, 1 tbs flax, lots of cinnamon, Kashi Go Lean Crunch, almond butter spoon.

002 Mmmm marshmallow bananas!

Side note: The color girl on the news is in a turkey coop this morning with a ton of turkeys getting ready for slaughter.  Kind of morbid, don’t you think?

Happy Saturday Morning!  I didn’t post last night because we had a little N&H night and I didn’t want to interrupt or judging of “Say yes to the dress”.  Some of the dresses that people choose are just disgusting and they spend so much money on them!  I was really only allowed to watch a few dresses before Nick put on season III of The Wire.

Before we could relax I had to get through Friday at work.

To break up the craziness that is Friday at my job I had a delightful lunch.  Yep, delightful.

I had a sami of leftover sweet potatoes, goat cheese, cranberry apple chutney and hummus.  I also had a side salad of Romain, carrots, tomatoes and WF organic balsamic dressing aka the best dressing ever!  This sandwich was amazing!  Reminded me of Thanksgiving!

I had the snack of the week with a grapefruit seltzer before heading out the door to the gym.

004 Kashi H2H, mixed nuts, chocolate chips and orange cranberries.

There was hardly any traffic getting home so I was at the gym in no time!

I did 47min of my own spin work…man I miss spin.  I did about 3 hard hills, 2 seated sprints, 3 standing runs, 2 standing sprints.  I cooled down with 2 miles on the t-mill.  I also did arm and core to round out the event.

N&H night included Chinese food and Spanish wine.

The amount of food I pulled out of the bag was crazy!  I ordered the small hot and sour soup, green beans with Szechuan sauce and cold noodles with sesame sauce aka peanut sauce.  These noodles are my weakness, and I think I could make them on my own.

006 I ate most of the soup and multiply the noodles and green beans by two.

If that wasn’t enough I was craving some chocolate!

Wow, I was stuffed!

I fell asleep on the couch and my love put me to bed around 11.  I know, I am a party animal.

I woke up at 8 this morning because I had hot yoga at 10 and I wanted to make sure I was able to eat and digest before heading out.

I had a simple breakfast of 1/3 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch and Kashi H2H.  I didn’t realize how much more sugar the Crunch had!  It is more than doubled!  Good to know.  I also had the usual coffee with almond milk.  We are all out of cow’s.

009 My coffee looks bigger than my cereal from his angel, but that is not the case.

OK I am off to pack my bag up for Hot yoga!  I am planning on stopping at the Penn. Dutch Market to see what that is all about!  I am excited to see home crafts!

We are having some crazy weather around here due to Ida.  The beaches are flooding and I hear it is going to rain for days.  Cold + Wet = Me just wanting to curl up in bed and watch a movie.  Unfortunately, life does not work that way.

Breakfast was a great repeat, but it had to be eaten swiftly.  I had to get mom to the train station and we had to leave 30min earlier that I usually leave.  This also left me with posting when I  got into work early.

In the bowl we have 1/2 cup plain Horizon yogurt, 1/2 cup Kashi H2H, 1/4 cup Uncle Sam, 1 sliced naner, almond butter, jelly.

I mix this all up when I am done taking pictures.  Maybe one day I will get a pic.

OK time to switch to work mode!  I hope all on the east coast are staying dry today!

It’s a beautiful day in the neighborhood!  Too bad I will be in a cube all day.

I know I had mentioned peppermint patty oats, but I changed my mind when I looked into the fridge this morning.

I can’t remember the last time I had a yogurt mess and an almost empty Chobani container was calling my name!  Sicily was excited for it too.

Don’t worry, she didn’t eat any, just making sure it was safe for me to eat.  She does not eat people food and I plan to keep it that way.

002 Almond butter, banana and jelly yogurt mess.

003 Along with the ab, jelly, yogurt and banana there was 1/2 a cup of Uncle Sam and 1/2 cup of Kashi H2H with a side of Sissy snifs.   I think she was after the yogurt, but again she did not eat any of my breakfast.

OK time to head out the door!

Chocolate for Breakfast #3? October 27, 2009

How many times can you hit the snooze button?  Well with a rainy morning it was about 5!  With that in mind I will have to rush through my new breakfast and this post :(

This was my first experience with Amazing Grass.  I am starting to feel a little under the weather…thanks to all those people coughing up a lung in the office and on the trains.  I thought a boost of Amazing Grass was what I needed!  I wanted to make it into waffles (I know amazing right!) but I only had time for oatmeal.

I mixed the packet with 1/4 cup oat bran and 1/2 naner.  The on top we have Kashi H2H other half of the naner and almond butter.  I was going for chocolate, almond butter and banana.  It was good, but def healthy chocolate :)   Good rick flavor without the sugar.

I also had a new coffee that mom got me, which is delicious!  Perfect alternative to creamer, which I had to stop using because it made me feel sick.

004 To to gobble down the rest of my oats and head out the door!  Rain = accidents and dumb drivers.

A New Way to Eat Breakfast October 14, 2009

So I have decided to change up my breakfast routine.  I usually eat a large breakfast in the AM and find myself force feeding myself some times.  I then find myself watching the clock until lunch because it is about 5.5 hrs between the two meals.

So, today I am splitting it up into two parts.  Things will not be as interesting because I need to work on complex small breakfasts, but I will get there.

Part 1:

1/4 cup Kashi nuggets, 1/3 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch, 1/2 naner, skim.

001 Lots of crunch in there!

002 I have an apple and PB for my second breakfast that I will eat at work.  I’ll let you know how this experiment goes!  I could be starving my 8AM, but it will be interesting to find out!

I was so spoiled yesterday, now today feels like my Monday :(   I think it would be great to have 3 day weekends/4 day weeks all the time, but I know once we had it everyone would want more.  Isn’t that the way the world works?  “If you give a mouse a cookie”.

The weather is supposed to warm up a bit today but then have rain for the remainder, yuck!  At least I do not have to focus on running outside anymore!

I have been slacking in the yogurt dept lately and with Sicily getting to enjoy it now, I thought I would too.

001 Yummy yogurt mess!  Tastier than it looks!

1/2 cup Greek Chobani, 1/2 cup Kashi Go Lean Crunch, 1/4 Uncle Sam, 1/4 cup Bear Naked granola, 1/4 cup Nature’s Path flax flakes, banana, cinnamon.

When Did It Become Winter? October 12, 2009

Afternoon all!  Does it feel like it is going to snow anywhere else in the country today???  The sky is grey and there is a huge chill in the air.  I had to shut all the windows this morning and I am still chilly. Brrrrrr.  Why does 54 feel like 34???

I started off this morning was something to warm me.

002 2x pumpkin muffins zapped for 1min on high with almond milk, 1/4 cup Kashi H2H, 1/2 cup Go Lean Crunch!, 1 banana.

After breakfast I started to put the place back together after the weekend before taking Sicily to the vet.  We are trying a new food and running a more complete panel of tests.  She also got some probiotics, yogurt for kitties!  I have to bring the vet a sample once Sicily gives it up…maybe she is getting better!  Fingers crossed.

When we returned I gave her some new food and yogurt and I headed off to spin class and munched on this before leaving.  Mini Larabar from the race.

This was my first spin class at the new gym and it was hard!  I think my legs are still a bit dead from Saturday, but it was a nice 40min sweat followed by some arms and core work.  I am going to have to figure out a new workout schedule, but I know it will involve being inside more because I do not enjoy running in cold weather.

When I returned I really wanted to be able to go to the vet and then Target, but Sissy was not having it so I made up some lunch even though I wasn’t super hungry I knew that once I went out I would be at it was already 1:30.

008 Huge salad of CT lettuce, maters, cuc, broccoli and balsamic on my new plate!  I also had a small almond butter and jelly toasted and some grapes on the side.

OK well I am going to get some more cleaning and laundry done while waiting for Sicily.
