I did it! 13.1 miles in, according to my watch, 1:55!!!!!!!!!!!
I felt good for most of the race and I was able to finish strong and under 2 hours, my goal!!!
This morning I started with a standard banana oatmeal and coffee.
Except they were special in a jar! 1/2 cup oats, 1/4 cup almond milk, 1/4 cup h2o, 1 banana, tbs flax, handful of raisins and yummy almond butter all over!
I chugged this on the way down.
I will write a full race recap when I get all of my mom’s pictures but here is a picture of me, Nick, Jen and Bryan after the race.
And I may have eaten a ton after the race!
I grabbed about 20 of these in every flavor. Mini Larabars!!!! I also had a banana, water and gatorade.
I have also had about 3 of these amoretto cookies that my mom got me from my favorite Italian cookie place!
best!
1/2 sandwich with sprouts, cheese and smoked turkey on a croissant that I split with my mom. There were also chips and a pickle. When I got home I took a long shower and had 1/2 and apple with some PB.
We have a dinner reservation at 6:45 tonight so I better get my sore legs moving!
Thank you again for everyone that supported my lovely furry friends!

My cat is insane! She keeps leaping off the ground on all fours. I wish I could get a picture of it but a snap photo really wouldn’t work so well. So here is one of her sleeping.
I can’t believe one week from now I will be preparing for my 1/2 marathon!!! Where did 12 weeks go???
Friday went down with only a few slight hitches during the day. That seems to be the story of Fridays at my J-O-B.
The cold cereal bowl didn’t seem to hold me, mental again?
I had the last
of my nature’s candy to hold me over.
Salad with leftover 1/2 piece of almond crusted chicken, tomatoes and 2x hummus. Last pear and LC wedge with the last of a box of TLCs. Yes I did use the bag from the box to carry my crackers. Why waste Tupperware or a bag? Saving the planet here!
I had to apply my LC wedge with the end of my work because I forgot my knife, but hey it worked!
My snacks came two told today…
First
Last spiced pear muffin with seltzer. Does anyone know what that symbol is????
The second 1/2 of my snack happened when I arrived home before going for my run.
I had heard so much about the PB&J Larabar that I saved it for last to taste.
First thing, someone tell me why the packaging is so much larger than the bar? Second, I really think after trying 5 Larabars I have concluded they are not worth the money nor the high caloric value for the size. I may be the only one that feels this way, but I honestly think I liked my own better and think I will continue to work on my recipes. Thank you Larabar for sending me the samples, I really was happy to eat them and review, they just weren’t for me!
After my disappointing Larabar I went out for a run. This is my second to last long run before the 1/2. For some reason I wasn’t feeling it so I went with music. The music ended up stressing me out so I turned of off after 2 songs and it settled into a MUCH better run! I ended up doing 9 miles with two major hills. 10 miles Sunday and then it is Taper Week!
Nick went out to play poker tonight so I was free to make a non Nick approved meal!
BBQ tempeh! Along with a large amount of broccoli with S&P.
I just warmed the tempeh in BBQ sauce and some spicy brown mustard. It was actually pretty good at masking the fermented soy bean flavor it naturally has.
I also had a side salad with organic greens, last red pepper from the garden
, tomatoes, cuc and feta.
I was craving something sweet after this dinner and I went for a Vitamuffin Pomegranate brownie with fresh pomegranate seeds! (Pain in the butt to get out and the red juice dyes…yeah I used one 1/2 and called it a day)
Sissy and I are now just chillin on the couch and I am leaving the dishes for the AM!
Have a great weekend everyone!
Don’t forget to donate to the animals!

Sicily is great. She has been chilling with Nick and I all night on the couch or running around the apt.
She seems to be settling in well!
Work went by quickly due to my meetings only broken up by some eats.
My breakfast did not hold me very well…I didn’t know if it was mental, but I had to have a few prunes around 11 and by 12 I had to shovel my lunch into make get a project together for another project.
At least it was good!
Only one picture to boot! WW wrap with LC cheese wedge, 1 hard boiled egg and spinach. I also had the other 1/2 of my peach from breakfast and 1/2 cup pumpkin granola from TJs.
I also had a few peanut M&M in my meeting.
Once I got home with Sicily and stalked her I had an apple pie Larabar.
This was actually my favorite flavor to date.
I did some yoga with the kitty and once Nick got home I started making dinner.
Pork tenderloin marinated in red wine, thyme, oregano from the garden and garlic, 1/2 sweet tater and a mix of snap peas, mushrooms and onions.
The star of this show was definitely the apple cranberry chutney I put on the loin and tater!
Tasted so much like fall with the apple, cranberries and spices! So delicious, but can only use a little at a time. All ya need though!
Ok, I am off to make some tea and finish watching Biggest Loser and snuggle with Sicily!!!! There is soooo much crying this episode!

So I am super jealous of all who attended the Healthy Living Summit in Boston this past weekend. It made me miss the the big bean even more! Thank God Southwest is starting to fly to Logan after the summer!
Work is slllloooowww right now, so the morning was kind of like molasses.
Like I said I had no idea what to make for lunch…this is what I came up with…

Kashi TLC honey sesame crackers with a laughing cow wedge, cottage cheese with balsamic, red pepper humus with carrots and peppers, and some unsweetened apple sauce. Man I love apple sauce. Why would you ever add sugar to it? Sooo sweet alone and pure
Reminds me so much of my childhood, what about you guys?
Don’t diss my carrot butt. I also do not peel my carrots, just wash. No need to really peel when they are organic. Right?
I came home and grabbed a homemade fig/date bar with mixed nuts and rolled in oat bran.

The only bad thing about having these delicious things in my house is that I want to eat the whole giant piece right now! Have you ever tried your had at these? They are super easy and amazingly similar to Larabars, which I have to buy wisely due to price
.

Nick came over for dinner. Before leaving for the gym I marinated two chicken thighs in Dijon mustard, garlic, Worcestershire, EVOO, S&P, red chili pepper flakes and honey.***edit there was also the juice of one lemon in there!***
paired with grilled eggplant and couscous with FM basil, feta and kalamata olives.

This sauce is the leftover marinade heat up and drizzled on top. I will be using it again. I bet it would make a tasty pasta sauce.
I haven’t made up my mind If I will be having anything for a little dessert. I may get peer pressured into some fro-yo
Yay for Monday being over!
What is a new sauce that you have tried lately???
