Superman Oat Bran

Good Morning and welcome to the down under!  Well not really, but I am watching Nadal loose!  They are saying he is giving up because he hurt his knee, but whatever he is always blaming injury and Andy Murray deserves every point he got!  Nadal also didn’t show signs of injury until he started to loose the match.  I hope Murray can pull it off!***Udate Nadal just bowed out.  This is the second player I have seen do this in this tourney***

While I watched the Aussie Open I had a bowl of serious power.

002 Yes my bowl is messy, but I di not have time for stove top, nor do I have the desire to do another dish.  Save a little water, right?

In my bowl:

  • 1/3 cup oat bran, 1/3 skim, 1/3 cup water
  • 1 tbs vanilla hemp protein
  • 1 tbs flax
  • 3/4 tbs chia seeds
  • 1 scoop Amazing Grass, amazing meal
  • 1 chopped homemade blueberry scone
  • small blob blueberry jam
  • small blob almond butter
  • sprinkle vanilla almond granola
  • splash of extra skim

I thought this would taste like all of the “healthy” elements but it was actually quiet delicious even without the ab, jam and other extras.

Yep, it is green!  The Hemp and Amazing grass are both green.

And now it is time for Food Rule of the day brought to you by Michael Pollan!

Rule #8 : Avoid food products that make health claims.  Sounds odd right?  Well, for a food to have a health claim it must first have a package (the first sign of processing – minimal or massive).  You must also have a lot of money to get your claims approved by the FDA and are mainly the foods produced by modern food science rather than mother nature.  “Don’t take the silence of the yams as a sign they have nothing valuable to say about your health”.
